About Us

Painappuru Magazine was founded in 2024 by a group of students at Pratt Institute. As a New York based magazine, we saw the need to give young artists a platform to showcase and promote their artwork. Whether it’s visual arts, literature, or performance arts, we aim to highlight all forms of creative expression, offering our audience a fresh perspective through young artists.

  • Elijah "The Liar" Chapman
Elijah Chapman is an artist who photographs under the name "The Liar." As a young Black male growing up in Brooklyn, New York, he uses photography as an artistic form to dissect the various components that make up his unique identity, bridging gaps between his perspective of the world and reality.
  • Brett Faucett
Born in Missouri to a restaurant manager and a stay-at-home mom, Brett was raised in a "Little House on the Prairie"-style environment until transitioning to public school at the age of eleven. Brett attended the same high school as Brad Pitt and considers the second most impressive thing about themself to be their ability to paint, sculpt, draw, and design. Currently, Brett attends Pratt, an art school in New York. At the heart of Brett's vision for this platform is the goal of giving individuals with the same limited resources they once had the opportunities they deserve. In this especially significant time, Brett sees this magazine as a journal chronicling the change driven by young artists and hopes others will see it the same way. In an especially important time, I see this magazine as a journal of the change brought on by young artists. I hope you’ll see it the same.
